I am an R and D engineer designing remote monitored moisture detection systems for exterior wall and low slope roofing applications. All of our systems are class 2 and use a UL listed class 2 power supply that we purchase from a separate manufacturer.
Our moisture detection system has many different applications including walls, windows and roofing systems. As far as NEC code is concerned do I need to get each system application listed/tested or just the entire system? Do I even need listing at all because the system is powered by an already listed class 2 power supply? If so what is the driving NEC code mandating listing?
Thanks,
