I haven't used any brand of class B GFI breakers yet, but there may be a job coming up where I'll need a few. Out of curiosity I checked the prices on a QO120EPD - The SquareD website shows a "suggested" price of $410 and Grainger.com has them for $282.50. The QO220EPD is on the SquareD website for $660 and Grainger wants $455. Are other brands this expensive as well? Talk about sticker shock! It seems like a hefty premium to pay to eliminate nuisance tripping.

Just curious why you need or where you can use class Bs.

Beyond that you do realize that lists prices mean next to nothing, call your supply house for a quote.:)

An EPD breaker with a setting of 30mA is not a Class B GFCI. It is an Equipment ground fault Protective Device (also sometimes called GFI of GFPE)

Class B GFCI were only used on wet-niche pool lighting circuits back in the '70s.

I got the class B from this data sheet from SquareD:

http://www.schneider-electric.us/pr...=datasheet&partnumber=QO220EPD&countrycode=us

The thought was to use it on ice/snow melt equipment.

I was once considering using one of these for de-icing equipment one time, the prices you mentioned are not that far off. The only way to purchase them is with an order of other equipment where Square D gives you a quote for their products for an entire project.

I ended up using the ground fault equipment that the ice/snow equipment products have. It is not something they give away either but was at least half of the QO single pole cost.
