Eaton wraps copper tape (they have yet to share the specifications) on type W cable (I believe it's class H stranding) and terminates it on their factory wired substations for marinas. I have asked a couple of times if that's a listed termination method. They dance around the question and never answer.
So, I'm asking y'all. Do any of you know if that's a listed termination? Do terminations like this need to be listed?
If you are an inspector, and you came up to a job and saw this type of termination (class H stranding with copper tape under a standard breaker lug that is not listed for class H stranding), would you ask questions or would you just look and move on? What questions would you ask?
Thanks to all that reply.
