Class I vs Class II light fixtures

Can somebody explain what's the difference between light fixture tested for Class I and light fixture tested for Class II application?

A ClassI fixture will be able to contain an explosion,not allowing it into the classified area.
This is the way I remember it.

Not unless approved for the Class II area. One of the problems is that Class I equipment often has a higher permitted external surface temperature than is permitted for Class II equipment.
