Class2, Div 2...seals?

Is a seal required when conduit goes from one class 2, div 2 area to another class 2div 2 area? Code does not seem real clear.
Is seal required with the conduit extending up from a dust-ignition proof enclosure
20' and into an unclassified area?

In Class II, seals only deal with maintaining the integrity of dust-ignitionproof enclosures. Unlike Class I, Class II does not address communicating volatile materials between locations via wiring methods, so there are no ?boundary? seals. There is no difference in requirements between Division 1 and 2.

To answer your second question: ?Where a raceway provides communication between an enclosure that is required to be dust-ignitionproof and an enclosure in an unclassified location, seals shall not be required.? [Section 502.15]
