Q1 In a class 1 div1 or 2 area lets say fuel dispensing. Is the wiring from gas pumps to store POS or control panel in back of store considered class 1 , 2 , or 3 power signal....?

Their are many different scenarios. I'm thinking 3.
You have probably looked over 514.3 and Table 514.3 (B) - 514.3(B) 1 Or try NFPA 30

We had a question about this the other day. Answer is it depends on the pump manufacturers. What was said was that the in this case the manufacturer specified that the communications wiring was to be considered and installed as Class 1 and run with the power conductors. The only wiring that was Class 2 was the speaker and call button wiring and that had to be run in its own conduit.

I'm fairly confident that other manufacturers follow the same procedure.

Is this a test question?

Thanks for help ......I am finding out that older installations have 1 conduit per fuel dispenser. Todat Knewer installs have 4 to 5 conduits going to each fuel island.
