I am a engineer working on a study for a fiberglass boat manf plant. The spray applications areas utilize chopper guns to apply the fiberglass and resin. The manf would like to add sensor devices to the chopper guns and manifolds to help monitor and control the amount of resin and fiberglass used for each application. They have asked if these devices have to be classified or not. NFPA 33, ch17 states that spray application areas that are not subject to deposits can be classified ordinary hazard. Just for your info the client does not use acetone for cleaning. They use a much safer chemical. Has anyone had any experiance with this type of facility that can give me some advice conerning this subject?
