Clearance

I have a riser room where I have bus plugs. On the South side of the room, I have 1'9" and I was wondering if we really need 2' there to walk around it? Is it required by code? Unfortunately, I can't move the equipment North because there are existing structural beams on the way in the floor.

Please advice.
