Clearances question

There is another post going on about clearances but my question is a little different. Is there any 3' side clearance requirement as to what can be near the panel. For example we have a requirement (I don't know if is local or not) where the meters or the panels can not be within 3 feet of the gas meters. AFAIK that is it, just a utility gas meter. Is there any requirement like this for gas boiler, etc? In other words if you have your panel and your 30", could the boiler be right next to it outside the 30" space. I have seen this noted by HI's on occasion. Had one HI say the SEU cable had to be 3' from the window even though it went up past the window.

Boiler can be near panel if you have your 30". Local amendments could state otherwise.

Need details on SEU and window to answer.

I believe that requirement is from NFPA 54, the Fuel Gas Code.
