I was (wrongly) under the impression you could not use a standard fixture with an incandescent bulb in a clothes closet. 410-16 seems to say you can, so what is the rage with the closet lights with pin lamps, LED's etc.? Am I reading it wrong?

The reason is in small closets you cannot get the clearance with an incandescent fixture because they require a greater clearance than fluorescent or led

identified for what?

do you know of any fixtures identified for closet storage areas ?

I believe the closet rod led's are listed for that purpose

You can't use just any incandescent luminaire either. It must have an enclosed lamp, and pendant styles are not permitted either.

You then have to keep any type of luminaire permitted the specified distance applicable to that type away from the defined "storage space".

The "identified for closet storage spaces" luminaires can be within the "storage space". Non identified luminaires will still need to be 6 or 12 inches from the "storage space", whichever applies, but if they are identified they can go anywhere in the closet.

I know the Halo ML Series LED trims we use are.

"For closets, compliant with NFPAR 70, NECR Section 410.16 (A)(3) and 410.16(C)(5). The SLD Series offers unparalleled design freedom with
mainstream value."

Almost a year ago we search for a fixture for closet storage areas and had little success, the spec sheets said closet areas but did not say closet storage areas

Thank You
