I have a job that requires control of fans by CO sensors. Max load is 2A 1Ø 120V. Any one used these? Recommendations please.
Also this is a dwelling unit garage. Do these need to be tied in with the CO/Smoke alarms throughout the dwelling?

Thanks

I would use a standard 120 volt CO detector BRK, Firex

With a relay controlling the fans

If it were in my jurisdiction I would probably run the wiring for interconnection.

I think he's asking if the CO detectors inside the building are required to activate the fans in the garage. I think the answer is no.
An audible interconnect is indicated but why turn on the fan in the garage for a CO detector at the other end of the building being in alarm mode?
If the only reasonable way to do it is to have that fan come on, it's not going to hurt; I just don't think it's required.

Doesn't sound to me like a situation where we need to sound an alarm. A garage will normally have high CO levels at times if vehicles or outside power equipment is running in the vicinity, this sounds like a situation where they want to automatically bring in fresh air once the CO level reaches a certain threshold.

Just did an install in a school gym on the fresh air system that would be similar except they are detecting CO2 and turning on the fresh air system when it reaches a pre-determined level. No alarms, just when the building has a lot of occupants and CO2 levels increase the fan will automatically come on to bring in fresh air.

All of the residential CO Alarms I have installed state in the instruction NOT to install in garages.

If you are going to use one this way I would definitely not be interconnecting it with the other house alarms.

What you are looking for is a CO detector that does not alarm but goes off at a lower level to turn on a exhaust fan.
Look at Macurco

We use these for underground garages for vehicle exhaust control.

Bingo! Just what I was going to suggest. At my last job we did a couple of these. There's a controller available as I recall.
