coach light bonding

I recently roughed in a small addition and installed a nonmetalic box for outdoor coach light and inspector said that i must have a bond to the box. I dont understand why I wuld need to bond a plastic box?

Makes no sence; the equipment grounding is needed all the way though. We had an inspector question fastening the equipment grounds to plastic boxes once, he wanted to see these on the rough to know they happened, but these were 3/0 nail ons that included the metalic fastener & green screw.

What is the wiring method and what type of box? Are you using EMT on a plastic box or something like that maybe?

Maybe if you are using NM, and the wire isn't unsheathed, he's just wanting to see the EGC, because that's what he wants to see on rough in.

So you got NM cable into a NM box?

You got a metallic connector?
Hard to see it in a NM box, but that's the only thing I can think about.
Technically he'd be right, but it's a bit of overkill.
