The most important Article is 100. I would follow that by 240 and 250. However, the most important ones, other than 100, are the ones that apply to the installation you are doing.

The purpose of this Code is the practical safeguarding of persons and property from hazards arising from the use of electricity. This Code is not intended as a design specification or an instruction manual for untrained persons.
The NEC itself doesn't adhere to that article in some cases.

I always recommend memorizing the 75°C column of table 310.15. It helps to be able to spot at a glance any mismatch between wires and breakers. Just copy it down on a piece of paper. Fill up the page with copies of that one column. Then throw it away and do it again.
