Does anyone know what the rule is, or where to find the rule on a parallel run that has been tapped together and a single conductor landed on the lug. I would not think this would be acceptable.

You want to look at 310.10(H).

But if the multiple conductors where run for voltage drop reasons and the ampacity of the single conductor exceeds the overcurrent protection it may be fine.
 
Jeff the real question is whether that single conductor is larger enough to carry the load. If so, then it's compliant assuming the rules for parallel runs were followed. Btw, this is exactly what Bob stated above. I don't know what Gus was saying but it looks like he is giving you the finger,,,, :lol:
