This question is regarding a vent box used for an ESP application on an oil well. The vent box is just a JB where the wire from the step up transformer terminates and provides power to the ESP. The theory is that if vapors travel up the down hole cable they have a place to vent instead of making it back to the surface equipment. We are currently replacing old fiberglass JB's with steel and due to "code", but I can't seem to find any information pertaining to the current JB not being adequate. The step up transformer secondary voltage going to the box is 1100-3811. Is the current JB sufficient or am I missing something?

Thanks

Disregard my question. The model number on the box was missing but I was able to find it through some digging. It was just not rated for our incoming voltage.
