Hello everyone! New guy here. Was going to start a new thread but found this one that is on subject with my question and may help others on this thread. I did electrical system design for several years for a local contracting company and then changed careers away from electrical for about 11 years. Now I am back at it again. So, I'm a little rusty and having to get caught back up on the latest code revisions. So, there used to be an exception, if memory serves me correctly, for out-buildings somewhere in NFPA 70 that would allow the building to be fed with no grounding conductor (say, 1p3w 120/240v 200a fed with 4/0,4/0,2/0 Alum URD) so long as there is a ground rod (GES...right?) AND the sub-panel is bonded like a service panel. Am I correct that this is allowed by NEC, and, if so, can you all point me to the correct section of the code? Thanks

Yes it was allowed but is not any longer. You're correct about the GES, you'll still need one now even when you run the EGC with the feeder.

Welcome to the Forum. :)
