code listing for suspended ceiling light fixtures

I am searching for the national or local code for the support wires for light fixtures in suspended ceilings. I find reference to it in NEC 300.11(1) but it is the coloring of the support wiring. I've checked ASTM C636-96 and UBC section 25.213 but none talk directly about the code need of the support wiring.
I am in Louisiana in the New Orleans area. Least case we need to have two #12 support wired at diagonal on the fixture at the support holes but I need the actual write up. Can someone please provide or direct me to this.

additional or required clg wires are usually local bldg code or fire code - call your local ahj for code reference (it may be a local amendment)
