code question for supports

I am running 4" emt, which is penetrating cinder block and brick walls in several locations.
Are the walls considered a support. No boxes or terminations are within 3' of the walls.

Is the EMT resting on the wall and/or will the hole be patched?

It will be resting in the 5" hole, and will be sealed with fire caulk.

I would call that supported but not secured.

I'm going to say no, it should not be considered supported.

I want to say that there is a standing minimum requirement to re-seal any opening to it's orginial construction! This is a Building Code and not the NEC.

There are detailed illustrations from UL that cover the type of patch required.
