Is there any requirement in the NEC requiring romex connectors to have bushing caps?????

I can't find any, but Others have insisted that it is a requirement.

Re: code question

BX and Flex connectors need plastic anti-short protection. Are you talking about plastic screw-on threaded bushings?

Re: code question

Awwt, AC cable is the only cable assembly that requires "anti short bushings", (320.40) MC (330.40) and FMC (348.42) do not require anti short bushings, bushings, or insulated throat connectors if using conductors smaller than #4

Re: code question

The only requirement the NEC says is that nm be secured with an approved connector either built in the enclosure or a fitting attached.
