i have a couple of question on a commerial building. (this is a church job).
Can i feed other recp from the bathroom circuit, i know i can't in dwellings but how about commerial.
Dishwasher, they want me to install a plug under the sink and then use SO cord to feed the dw. i'm thinking thats no longer legal but can't find it in the nec.
where in the code does it say you can use the 90 degree ampacity table when derating wire for 310-15 (b)
also if thats true then you can put 9 #12 thhn current carrying conductors in the same conduit ( #12 thhn 90 degee table ampacity 30 amp 310-15(b) 9 conductors 70% derating equals 21 amp right?)

thanks for your input

Re: code questions

If a requirement in the NEC states it is for dwellings, dwelling units, or something similar, then there is no prohibition against doing it for other types of occupancies. Therefore, you do not have a problem with picking up a bathroom receptacle and just counting 180 VA for the load.

I see not problem with a cord on the dishwasher as long as the listing permits the use. I doubt they will use SO cord though. I suspect they will use SJO cord.

I don't have time to look up the references but it is true that you are permitted to use the 90?C conductor ampacity for derating as long as the final ampacity does not exceed the 75?C ampacity and the terminations on both ends of the circuit are rated for 75?C. :D
