Code reference for dedicated bathroom GFCI's?

I don't know why I am having trouble finding this in the NEC, but where does it require that the bathroom GFCI's be on a dedicated 20A circuit--residential. Also, do the smokes in the bedrooms have to be on with the arc-fault circuitry? Or, can other receptacle outlets, outside of bedrooms, be joined with the arc-fault bedroom circuitry? FYI, I am returning into the residential field after 8 years and I am trying to re-familiarize myself with the code. Thanks...

Review NEC article 210. 210.11,C,3 is the dedicated bathroom circuit. Article 210.12 is arc-fault and says all branch circuits in the bedroom are to be protected by this.

Other outlets besides the bedroom ones can also be protected by AFCI's and/or placed on the same branch as the bedroom AFCI.

Re: Code reference for dedicated bathroom GFCI's?

Furthermore, if I were to run a 14-3 to feed two bedrooms, respectively, will the arc faults operate appropriatly? It is my understanding that the arc fault monitors the current on both the hot wire and the neutral for each circuit; if it doesn't read the same amount of current returning on the neutral as fed through the hot wire, it will trip--assuming an arc in the circuit. So with a 3-wire feed, won't there be a problem with the arc fault detectors functionality? This tells me, no more feeds with shared neutrals when wiring bedrooms...

I'm no longer installing so I've not wired one, but I don't believe they work with multi-wire branch circuits. Try going to the AFCI forum and you'll more than likely get an answer.

Sorry, I should have thought of that in the first place. I will re-post in the Arc-fault forum.
Thanks...

I apologize, I should have been more clear. I don't think you'll have to post there, but rather view existing posts, as I'm sure this issue has been brought up before.
