Hello everyone, I'm going crazy here tonight because I KNOW i'm overlooking something...........I can't find the code reference (2008) in regards to SE Cable in conduit. I've searched the forums but didn't find anything so please my apologies if this has been covered in the past.

I'll bet you i've read that article 50 times tonight and going back and forth.........it's crazy because I would've swore i've read that in the code before. Maybe i'm just to tired tonight:roll:

There is a reference in the 2008 regarding SE cable within a conduit underground. It's not permitted. 338.12(A)(2).

What, specifically, are you looking for? Is it allowed in conduit? Fill calcs? Derating?

I was looking to see if it was allowed, I could've swore that I'd read somewhere it wasn't but I suppose since it's April I can go ahead and admit I've been wrong for the first time this year ;)

You're not wrong...... you just can't prove you're right! ;)

remain calm!

remain calm!

 LOL, that probably is about what i've looked like for the past 45 minutes. Sometimes I swear i'm going crazy!
Remain calm! Ken(480 sparky) can tell you, I do not know what would cause a fuse to blow tonight!!:D:D I think there was a thread here some time ago about SE being run in conduit and some of the post were leaning towards SE in conduit was a code violation.:smile:

Rob, Thank you. Perhaps this is what I was originally thinking of. I thought I'd read where they plainly say "not allowed to be ran in conduit" but I went back to 99 book and found nothing so that part I may have mistaken for something else. That can be a bit misleading because someone could read that as JUST not allowed in conduit underground but that is why we question things and I turn to all of you for help, which I appreciate greatly! Thanks again.

 Thank you! I had a good nights sleep so I'm back on track this morning..........no heading to the water town armed today :grin:
Rob pointed out a reference that I believe to be what I may have been thinking of in the back of my mind. Thanks again for your input!!
