I used the table in the nec. 314.16(A), (2002 NEC) How did they end up with 18?

Whoever made up the test question should have mentioned this Table, or at the least, included as a choice the answer "18". There are several dumbly worded q's. Take a look at q# 7. B & D are the same choices. :confused:

Cool, my odds just went up from 25% to 33.3% of getting it correct! :grin:

I come up with 20 cu. in.
4X4 X 1.25
4X4=16 X 1.25 =20 cu. in. :smile:
I believe that is not correct since the 4x4x 1.25" deep is the outside dimensions of the box. The question states according to the NEC....

I went right to the Tables so I believe the answers given are not correct.

!8 is my answer.

Question 2. A 1 foot RMC would be a nipple (Ch9 Table 1 ex(4))and can be filled to 60%, and ampacity adjustments do not apply. This is not one of the answer choices. If the OP meant a 1 inch RMC then I agree with Wbalsam1 40%.
This is a poor test. You can not fill a conduit to 125%.
