What is this? I bought a tent trailer a while back and I just found this in the bottom of the battery box. It did have tape over the splices and the red #6 wire is continuous, but I have no idea what the heck they used it for. I'm thinking I don't wanna know, either. Yes, the green and white are both under the butt-splice. I just thought I'd pass it along for giggles. Anyone want to purchase it? I 'spose I could put it on Ebay. ;)

Enjoy!

My immediate thoughts (and I quote):

"Oh, well that's to...no, no, wait. Oh, it's to...no, that's not it. Well, um...

What the heck was that designed to do?!?"

My guess would be that the female plug was on the tow vehical and it was used to hook the two batterys together and use the ball as ground. Just a guess.

Is the tent trailer 12 vdc and this red wire with the white joined to it is the positive lead that would hook up a post on a marine type battery so the lights would go on ??
There should be another wire similar ( maybe worse ) for the negative post if this is the case, it could be hiding in there somewhere close by.

Probibly using the trailer coupling for the ground side? Neg of trailer battery connected to trailer frame? I don't know.

Looks like it was the tent-trailer's heating system. Now that you've gone and ripped it out, there'll be no winter camping for you. :)

There goes elk hunting this year. Dad gummit! That's the main reason I bought the thing.

I do like the 25 amp fuse. It's a nice touch.

I been needing one of them for years. If not sold yet i am interested in buying it LOL.
They have names for stuff like this but cant tell you it here.

That thar cord is to get a Double ground silly! Any redneck knows that thar are too grounds in them thar outlets at the campgrounds. So, by pluggin' in the deee-lux cord, yo have twice the normal ground, and then the lightnin' won't get ya ....

I can tell most of you guys never grew up on a farm. I didn't either, but I think I did in another life. Loose the techno idea and think of in it in a sencable, real word, do it with what you have on hand, in the middle of a Nabraska corn field, ( OK, West by god Virginia if you have too.) type of approch and I think you will agree it does work!!!!!!! It hooks the trailer battery to the car battery and used the coupler as the negitive return. He even put in a Fuse.!!!!!!! K.I.S.S. keep it simple stupid.
