This is a new Modular home one month old and the coffee maker is several years old, but last week the water temp in the coffee maker increased almost too hot to drink. I thought it was weird but OK. Then I noticed the air temp of my wife's hair dryer was hotter than normal also which made me concerned.
Those are the only two items I can think of that the temp is preset without mixing air or water to suit ones taste.
I'm concerned I getting too much voltage or amps.
I have a digital Fluke and I'm getting 123.3 volts on the kitchen circuit. Everything wiring wise is new in the home all the way to the transformer on the pole outside.
Sould I be concerned?

Thanks to all

Both the hair dryer and coffee maker are resistive loads and the wattage they consume increases with voltage. If you had 115V before and went to 123, that would increase your wattage (heat) by a factor of about 14%. You might notice that on the hair dryer.

The coffee pot warmer might be a little hotter keeping the coffee warmer.

Its not anything to worry about in most cases. Uitlity voltage tends to change from time to time.

You might want to make sure you have equal voltage from L1-N and L2-N. If it is very close, I would not worry all that much.

Today everything seemed normal. The coffee was the right temp and the hair dryer, my wife said, is not as hot as it was last week.
It had to be what you said about the local power company. We have a new house, but we have lived on the same property for 10 years, and with the same power company.
With a new home it concerned me for safety reasons.

Thanks
