Looking for a little direction for a load calculation on a addition to a café, Service is being replaced as it needs to be relocated. I thought there was a restaurant example in the back of the code book but did not find one. Have been reading through section 220 but was wondering if there was a good outline for one like you can find for residential service calculation. It is a single phase building. Thanks

There is an optional load calc for new restaurants 220.88 with an example in the handbook. However since you have an addition , I think would utilize existing 12 month utility bill data (220.87) then add your new loads based on applicable demand factors for kitchen equipment (220.56), receptacles (220.44) and continuous loads (lighting).

Only way utility bill data works is if they can give you peak demands data recorded not just the usual which only gives you an average as seen by your KwH on bill. Our POCO usually doesn't provide or record peaks so then you would need to put a recording meter in place for 30 days.
