There is not any real difference between paralleling cogen equipment and any other generator. There is some kind of control system that decides when both systems are in synch and it then allows the systems to be linked together.

your main hurdle will be the requirements of the utility you will be paralleling with. they will most definitely have a lexicon of requirements and terms the owner will need to comply with. they need to be part of the conversation, and early on.
