I had a call today , it was a laundromat , the meter can was burning and they lost 1 phase from the meter to the main breaker inside the building, I'll be calling the poco tomorrow to open the metercan and see what's cooking in it , my guess is that they are since they using a 200A service the load conected to that service its been slowly melting the meter socket and I believe that a service upgrade to 400A is needed.the question is how do you do a load calculation for a laundromat.I found an all thread about this , but I'd like to hear more opinions.

IMO, Every machine could be running at the same time, not for over three hours but close

to it. That being the case, add all the loads with no derating, size the service to handle

the load, or a bit larger.

First step: Get all electrically-relevant nameplate data for each utilization equipment, square foot area, general purpose receptacle count, etc., etc.

Seems so much easier when you break a task down into smaller ones and take it one step at a time.
