Do you still have to install a GEC to cold water line where in emerges from the ground under the house if it was changed over to PVC piping and not copper piping anymore? There is only a one foot piece of copper piping stubbed up out of ground then it converts to PVC. I'm assuming there is at least 10 FT in the ground so under 250.52(A)(1) I would think it would still need a GEC installed. What you say?

I think if there is 10 foot of it underground it is a GE and needs a GEC connection. It does not necessarily need its own GEC. It could be connected via a bonding jumper from another GE.
