My question is about a control cabinet that I have encountered and I have two different voltages using the same color wire. Does the code cover
this.

Tennessee is one of the jurisdictions that requires that all equipment be listed by a NRTL such as UL.
As such, the control cabinets would be designed under a Code other than the NEC and approved by the listing agency and would not necessarily comply with the NEC.

If a panel is wired under NEC rules, 210.5 (C) might apply. It requires branch circuits of different voltage systems be uniquely identified, but not necessarily by color. Art 725 would also apply to NEC installations for Class 1,2 & 3 circuits.

Your control cabinet may be listed to UL508A and if so the NEC does not apply. The NEC applies to the wiring to and from the control cabinet.

Thanks guys for the response, they were very helpful. I am schedule to fly to Germany and speak with the manufacturer of the cabinets.
And you have given me good questions to discuss with them. Thank you again

We had a ton of German equipment installed at the VW plant. The listing agency was TUV(Ger). The State of TN added them to the approved NRTLs to assist in the plant installation.

Does anybody see a problem with each state having its own list of approved Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories?
OSHA maintains a list of acceptable NRTLs, which includes TUV. What exactly would an unacceptable NRTL be, and who is still recognizing it?
