I was trying to find the article in the nec that tells me what the color code is on armored cable, does anyone know?

Re: color code

Article 320 of the NEC covers AC cable requirements. The section does not specify anything about color coding.

Can you explain in more detail what you are trying to figure out?

Re: color code

Bryan I think he means the outside color of MC cable.

In this area one of the manufactures uses a color code so you can identify what is inside if you 'know the code'

For example base color of dark blue and you have Steel MC, a green stripe indicates an extra (IG) ground, red stripe indicates a '3 wire' etc.

red28 this is not an NEC issue you need to get that info from the manufacturer.

Re: color code

Most (if not all) HCFC is green now. I wonder if that has something to do with the redundant grounding required in Patient Care Areas.

AFC's "Color Spec" offers MC and AC with stripes to indicate the color of the conductors inside.
