Color identification.

The conductors don't come in with a particular phase identification. They can be anything you want.
The only thing you can detect would be rotation. once you pick clockwise our counter, the phase marking will be unique to your building.

If you are trying to mark each end of the "conductors" for what ever reason get an amprobe reading off of each conductor at one end and then match it up at the other end.
 
As previously stated, your main concern should be phase rotation. Identify, then mark each end to ensure proper motor rotation (if applicable).
