Has anyone heard if there is a new standard for NM cable jacket colors? Ive recently started seeing Blue and Purple jackets for 14/3 and 12/3.

Looks like Cerro Wire is using blue and purple to identify 3-wire plus Ground cable.

There is nothing in the product standard that specifies the color of the NM cable jackets.
While the colors white, yellow, and orange are commonly used to indicate 15, 20, and 30 amp wire respectively, that is not required by the product standard. If you order enough length, you can get any color jacket you want.

I have seen it on HD's web site but it always states not available in California at stores or shipped. I figured maybe it was a Canadian thing.

Cerro's web site does not show those colors as a standard but you can order custom colors.
