After reading Mike Holts book on Electrical Estimating I'm curious to know if others do comercial branch circuit takes offs the same way.

Each individual circuit was taken back to panel in emt individually. This seems to create alot of excess conduit in the take off.

I'm new to estimating , not new to the trade. I have been grouping 4 home runs to a conduit back to the panel from the nearest home run box, then measuring the 4 individual circuits to this point. My method takes alot more time because of the extra time involved grouping circuits together. It also kind of screws up the conduit/wire assemblies up because the same conduit has a different number of wires in different areas of the same conduit. Where Mike Holt's method seems to put excess conduit into the take off, It would probally cut my take off time of branch wiring in half.

So here I am wondering how others do branch circuit takes offs.
