Trying to determine if we need gfci protection on countertops of a coffee shop out in front area. There is no food prep or sink in that area. Just expresso machines and the like. They got out of the sprinkler system so i'm getting they got some other type of classification. We put gfci's in back on freezer, ice machine and one close to a hand sink but not sure about the rest of the place. I would guess this is 'NOT' a commercial kitchen??

Probably not required, but not a bad idea IMO. Things change a lot in places like that.

Does it meet the definition Kitchen. An area with a sink and permanent provisions for food preparation and cooking. & of course more than 6' from a sink
Actually not really. The sink is in the back room with refer's and there is no food preparation really.

Well if it doesn't meet the definition of kitchen then it is not a kitchen and no gfci is required
