Hey Guys,

I'm getting involved in larger commercial jobs than I am used to as a contractor (25,000-100,000 sq. ft.). I have done a lot of work for other companies on large commercial jobs, but have very little experience estimating for these jobs for my own company. I need some training. Does anyone out there know of a good course to take? I am willing to travel to it if it is worth it. I learn best in person but if I can't find an in person course, I am open to an online course. Thanks for the input.

Look Into Mike Holts electrical estimating to understand the basic foundation along with Rs means book & NECA labor units. they helped me alot on learning how to estimate better.

Two of the worst sources to learn about estimating....sorry

I'd love to hear why you say so. Do you have other suggestions?
NECA labor units are extremely high. I only used them on change orders.
RS Means is ok for budgeting, but commercial estimating is a science. Your competition will be within a couple of percent points between them. You need a system like Accubid, Conest, Vision, etc.....and training of that software
