commercial kitchen sub-panel.

a commercial kitchen has 125a 1phase 24 circuit,sub-panel.It already has 1 60a dp,12-20a sp breakers.Can I add another 30a dp? I was told I must go to the main panel..125a main breaker panel.Once again thank you all in advance.

Why would you need to go to the main panel? You can hang a subpanel off a subpanel, or add as many branch circuits to a subpanel up to it's rated ampacity as you please.

Froggie,

Your concern should be the connected load to the 125 amp feeder feeding the subpanel. If the connected load is low than adding a 2P-30a CB should be fine. The weakest link in your setup is the feeder, so your concern should be that the additional load won't overload the 125 amp CB.

The answer is entirely dependent on the load.

If there is enough capacity in the sub panel then you can come out of that with another panel.

By the way, who told you you must come from the main?
