In a commercial kitchen there are 15 hanging duplex duplex outlets in 4" square boxes on retractable cords, must these be in a water tight box or gfci protected because actually they are not serving countertop space.

All 15 and 20 amp 125 volt receptacles in a commerical kitchen must have GFCI protection. No exceptions.
