I have a bid for a laundry mat and just want to make sure that I am calculating the load and advising the customer correctly. Is there anything that in the code that allows me to use a demand factor for a commercial application? I'm pretty sure that is just for a dwelling.
Combined washer name plates is 225 amps, 120 volt gas dryers combined name plate is 466 amps. Total in just washer and dryer power is 691 amps. I would think that would fall in the continuous load category. 691a x 1.25 which would be 863 amps in just washer and dryers. Then have to factor in lighting, hvac, water heater, receptacles. Just want to make sure I am right with the total amperage of 863 amps in just the laundry equipment. There is currently a 400 amp panel and a 200 amp from the old restaurant. Any one experienced in laundry mat that could give some insight. Thanks!
