I have a connercial oven that is 32.4 KW. What size wire and breaker do I use.I want to see if I am right. Thanks.

Is there a nameplate that has the min. circuit ampacity and/or max. OCD on it?

(I also would like to know the voltage.)

Is this a real oven or a test question? That's a mighty big oven for single phase. Blodgett is one of the main manufacturers of such ovens, but I didn't know they made one that big in single phase.

Assuming single phase it will be just watts divided by volts

32.4 x 1000 * 220 = amps

Don't you mean 32.4 x 1000 / 220 ? Otherwise, the copper alone would make Bill Gates flinch!

I know how to figure amps but was wondering about derating.

For the (obvious) continuous load?

Yes, your right and thanks for correcting it.

Is it?

I do not think so.

'where the maximum load is expected for 3 hours or more'

Ovens, ranges, stove tops etc all cycle.

Chiller Demand

Chiller Demand

I have a building will be servied with:
4 chillers 42kw ea
2 secondary water pumps @ 10HP ea
2 chilled water pump @ 20HP ea
2 water heater @ 50kw ea
what will be the demand factor that will apply to these Loads..where I can find that in the code
Thanks everybody
