I have an existing building which is being re-purposed to serve as a truck maintenance garage. The existing Main Switchboard for the facility is located in close proximity to the service bays, and extends to within <18" of the floor. There is no existing 'engineered' mechanical ventilation of the area.

Initially I thought that this was an issue and that all floor areas up to 18" above the floor were required to be Classified. But looking again at Article 511 (2014) - it looks like if all fluids have flash points > 100 deg F, no area classification is required. The trucks are diesel fueled, and other liquids such as lube-oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze will be stored/dispensed.

Am I understanding correctly that as long as the garage does not service gasoline fueled (or LNG/CNG/LPG) vehicles, that the building likely does not require any classification?
