Hello,
I am new to this forum, so please don't beat me up too much for asking silly questions.
Ok, we have a client that is installing flexible cables (SOOW #12 AWG) in a hazardous location (Class1/Division1) with Hawke 753 cable glands at either end of the cable. They chose to use this type of cable instead of metallic conduit with seals, because they are worried about water ingress in hard conduit, as this area is prone to flooding.

The problem that we seem to be having is that one of the cables for this application needs to be designed for CANbus communication, and I cannot seem to find any Cl1/Div1 CANbus cables.
I found what appears to be Ethernet cables for Cl1/Div1, but the impedance is not the same for these Ethernet conductors when compared to the 120 Ohm CANbus requirement, so I think that I will have to keep looking.
Does anyone have any experience with this type of application, and perhaps know of a manufacturer of Cl1/Div1 CANbus cables, or am I looking at this application from a wrong angle?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Eric
