I have an installation of communications wiring that is routed under a gang of attached mobile buildings used as an office structure. I am trying to understand the proper installation of this comm. (and telephone) wiring, specifically the runs under the "building". Article 840 refers me back to 800.110 and 800.133, but this is strictly "Installation Methods Within Buildings". 800.110(A) states "Communication wires and cables shall be permitted to be installed in any raceway that complies with either (A)(1) or (A)(2)." Does this mean raceway not required or choose one of the raceways below? Given that my concern is outside the building, does this even apply?
Expanding my reading, 800.47 allows the communication cable to ignore the "wet location" requirement, but what about raceways, mainly some form of conduit?
Finally, in absence of a requirement for raceways, what is enforceable regarding the "neat and workmanlike manner" in 800.24? Can these cables be bundled together with tie-straps with occasional attachment to building structure? Can they simply lay on the ground?
