I would like to know what you all think about my company slogan.

"Our prices will shock you, our work won't"

Do you see any misinterpretation at all with this. Thank you. :D

My second and close second was..

"We'll turn you on."

People tend to think electrical contractors are high priced... with that, this may lead people to believe you are high priced and they may not even look any further into hiring you.

Slogans are not easy to develop and it is a good idea to put them here first so as the "guys" can let you know what they think.

Re: Company trademark. Vivid content. - PG 13

I like both, but I think the average lay person would not understand either well enough to appreciate them, making them unsuitable.

Re: Company trademark. Vivid content. - PG 13

I personally do not think a company needs a slogan.
Let the words of your customers speak for you.

I think slogan are a waist of time, name recongition teamed with quality work speaks for itself.

just my opinion.

aelectricman. There are 2 contractors in this area with that exact solon. My wife came up with on so I put it all my business cards.
"Meeting all your electrical needs"

What's behind door number three, Chris? :D

"Our prices will shock you, our work won't"
I just hear a "hopefully" after that.

It makes you sound cheap. I'd try to think of something dependable yet clever. Watch some John Wayne movies. :D

Plumbers Slogan "A royal flush beats a full house."

Home Depot Slogan: "You can screw it up,,, We can help"

Electrical slogan:
"We light up your life" (oldies song)
"Come to the Light"
"Were here to light you up" (Hanz & Franz, Saturday night live,, old shows.)

How about,

"Our low prices will shock you, our work won't"

I like the shorts one - Clever

The other (3rd) one is this.

Since my name is Alpha electrical. I could say.

"The Dominate name in Electrical"

The second half kinda implies that your work is unimpressive.

"The Dominate name in Electrical"
There's a lot of non-dog people out there that won't get it, but I think this is the best approach so far, IMO. I'd still tweak it a little. The phrase is in the passive tense, try to make it active: "We Dominate Electicity" or something like that.

Since you're an "A", you're at the front of the yellow pages. I'd focus on a big ad. I looked through the yellow pages last night, some of the best ones were large and had a few good pictures. :)

Do you have a logo? What's on your vans?

Re: Company trademark. Vivid content. - PG 13

You'd definitely want to say your low prices will shock. Otherwise, people might think they will be shocked by your (possibly) high prices.

I don't have a slogan. Since I can barely keep on top of all of the work I do have, I don't think I really need a slogan. I'm getting a fair amount of business through referrals from (presumably) happy clients.

My thinking on slogans is that they are mainly just marketing gimmickry. I let my name and my work speak for itself. If you don't have a slogan, I think it might convey the idea in a lot of minds that you're so good that you don't need a slogan to lure people in.

Re: Company trademark. Vivid content. - PG 13

Reading this thread reminded me of some ads that my instructor brought to class back in the ?70s. They read as follows:
John Doe?s Electric No job to small We will replace your blown fuses, frayed wiring, and outdated service. Upgrades also available.

This would lead a person to believe that a blown fuse would be put back for a blown fuse, bad wiring replacing bad wiring and so on.

Another he had that I liked was; Our costumers always have a last word. Was this an execution?

It is best to leave the advertising up to professionals.

May I interject please. First we are electricians and then we are business people. In order to be successful at both one must advertise and have a slogan( see Coke, Pepsi,GE,). Americas Favorite Electrician or The one for you, wait thats Coke.
