I'm confused why Mike compares 100% of the Heat to 125% of the A/C on service calculations. He cites 440.32 which clearly states that is for branch ckts. In another post there was a comment that 25% of the largest motor is not to be included on the service calculation as well. Any comment would be appreciated.

The first section of 220 is a little confusing when it comes to A/C and Heating. Look at 220.30C
which is easier to understand. Use heat or A/C at 100%, which ever is the largest.

Re: Comparing Heating to A/C

Thanks for the reply Bob but I meant to say standard method. Mike also uses that 125% comparison on his residential calculation spreadsheet under free stuff.

Re: Comparing Heating to A/C

At one time he had the 1.25 factor applied to the A/C unit. I call his attention to it and the 1.25 was dropped from the A/C. I think it should also be dropped from the heat.
