Hello All,

I've run into a somewhat curious problem. I had a question regarding the Fronius IG Plus 11.4-1 Uni inverter. Turns out that these were made before 690.12 came along and it looks like most rapid disconnects are made for specific inverters which is making it quite difficult to find a proper one. Does anyone know if there is a universal 4 string rapid disconnect that can be used to meet the requirements? Been looking and calling around for a few hours and cant seem to get any leads, figured I would give this a shot.

Thank you!

Are you on the version of 2014 or 2017 of the NEC?

Midnite Solar makes shunt-trip combiners that fit these inverters, and can satisfy at least PART of the rule of rapid shutdown. They still have no control over the discharge time for the inverter capacitors.

We are on the 2014 version.

Thanks!
