Can compression fittings for rigid conduit be used outdoors none of the manufacturers list their fittings for wet locations

I don't think threaded rigid couplings are listed for that use. Threaded rigid couplings leak a lot more than the old EMT compression couplings that we can no longer use in wet locations. Conduits in wet locations are required to be "arranged to drain". I don't see a real world issue if the couplings leak.If not so listed then no they cannot be used.

Why bother with compression when you can go set screw...Can compression fittings for rigid conduit be used outdoors none of the manufacturers list their fittings for wet locations
I don't think there was in the past...it is my understanding that UL changed the listing standard. We use to use standard emt compression couplings outside because we were unaware that there was a product listed as rain-tite.
There are compression fittings listed for wet location but the standard compression fittings cannot be used in wet areas.
The only line of rigid/IMC threadless fittings suitable for raintight applications
The only alternative to field threading in NEC wet locations
I believe RAIN TIGHT is as wet location rated as your going to get with conduit fittings.Would you consider rain tight/concrete tight to be the same as wet location rated? If so American fittings has plenty of options through PLATT https://www.platt.com/platt-electri...Fittings-Corp/NT2761/product.aspx?zpid=823924
See post #9. :blink:Interesting issue - never considered this. I found these: Raintight SSR series by Eaton.
