Computer gear trips ARC faults

Lamps, drills or tv set plugged into the outlets will work fine fine but if you plug in the computer tower or monitor the ARC breaker will trip after about 10 seconds. Breaker is Sq D QO, any idea what's causing this or how to fix the problem?

Removing the ARC protection is not an option.

Glad to see you're not going to remove the AFCI.

A friend of mine ran into the same issue I told him I would not remove the AFCI protection ,. they found someone who would. I'd try another breaker ,.. then perhaps even a small sub panel with a different brand AFCI

If you have the equipt necessary to check for current leakage to ground, that may be a good place to start.

how old is the SQ D breaker?

Yep, cause Square D had a recall on afci breakers! Try another breaker as a troubleshooting option.
