Con Edison incoming service

Anyone can help me with this?

How do we request Con Edison for incoming service with a demand load of 13,000 amp building.? 4 @ 4000 amp or what? 3@ 4000 amp is a little bit too less.

Not sure how 12,000 amps will work for a 13,000 amp load. How was the 13,000 amps calculated?

Probably will take primary service. I assume they have literature that provides max demand at a given voltage.

A huge mixed use building. . 13,000 may not be accurate, but not much different.

I would think submitting an application with you loads to the utility would be a good first step.

Fill out the web forms


They will tell you if it is 480/277 or 120/208V

Then you will be told if it is one service or two or whatever.

Most of the time I ask for thousands of amps of service from ConEd, and I get one 4000A service entrance because they know that the Article 220 calculations are way too conservative. Then I take in one service entrance and break it into multiple 4000A service disconnects.
