I am putting together a conceptual design for a PV solar power station. The only power distribution line that goes by the site is a 12KV line, the output of my solar panels arrays are 480VAC 250KVA inverters that feed a step up transformer 480V-12000V connected to the 12KV line. How do I calculate my maximum power output based on the 12KV line?

Considering the most ideal condition that is no power loss in transformer and no transmission power losses in lines, the maximum power output at receiving end will be equal to input power 250 KVA or 250 Kw if power factor is unity. Refer to simple transformer equation: E1/E2=T1/T2= I2/I1

Don't I have to consider the conductor carrying capacity of the 12KV lines?

The maximum power on the receiving end will be equal to the power transmiited from the sending end minus the transmission power loss in the line + losses in the transformer. Inaddition to it, it will also depend whether the load on receiving end is resistive or inductive.
